And with 10 YMCA pools in the Greater Seattle area, you're never too far to access swimming lessons for every age and ability.

The YMCA's wide menu of summer activities allows you to plan a varied, fun summer all at one place with easy online registration and is a great alternative to child care or preschool. Start with a couple of weeks of sports camp and choose from baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, cheerleading and more. Then try Discovery Camp where kids create and learn with hands-on, structured activities in art, science, storytelling, plus outdoor play and field trips. Or try Outdoor Day Camp with adventures in exploring, hiking, rock climbing, arts and crafts, learning outdoor skills and swimming. A week or so of Specialty Camp will allow your child to make new discoveries through Mad Science, learn to double-dutch from Ropeworks or explore the depths of Puget Sound with the help of Seattle Scuba Schools. Finally, mix in a week or two of overnight camp where boys and girls get to sail, bike, horseback ride, skateboard and learn about marine ecology. While they're putting on skits and singing around the campfire, they'll be making new friends and gaining some new-found independence.

Teens and tweens can also find tons of programs and activities from overnight backpacking and travel camps covering Puget Sound and the west coast to international programs.
